Hi Folks.
I have been off-net for a while. two weeks ago my computer shut down giving off a nasty smell of burning. Now back in the dark ages when TV,s had valves I had a little electrical shop and used to do my own repairs, so, how hard can it be to fix a computer. First of all, loose and dirty conections, nope! everything looks ok, right, change the fuse, still nothing, so I then decided that the power pack had burned out, I bought a new power pack, the cheapest I could find. I changede the power pack, smiled, sat down, switched on and waited, and waited. Nothing. Right, davles, (have you seen his stuff on MyShots?) is pretty clued up so I phoned him for advice. "Easy" he said, "Take it to a propper repair man like Kevin in Aberaman" So I did. The result was, not only the power pack had blown but also the processor and some other part that I can't remember the name of, and apparently, I was lucky not to lose my memory, well not my memory exactly, the ram in the computer. Anyway, some days later, I collected my tower, now repaired, fixed everything back together, switched on, and lovely, everything working, except the internet. I waited a few more days before admitting to my grandson that I could'nt get the router working. After telling me (with a wide grin) that I was to old for this technology, he fixed it in five minutes. So, here I am again, all ablog, and with lots of pics to upload, if that's the right term.

Well done to the winners of competition No 4, kojak did'nt say so but I'm sure I came fourth.
Wonder what comp 5 will be!!!

Ah, heres Ena now with a steaming mug of cocoa and my medication.
