MyShots.com: Capturing Your World... Currently online: 0 member(s), 13 guest(s). Manroy's 4th blog.Posted by manroy | 2007-10-29 | Comments: Hi folks. Saturday already. As I get older the weeks seem to fly by even faster. Still mustn't grumble, I've got a great life really. From Monday to Friday I swim each morning from 8am till 9am at the local baths, there are about half a dozen of us blokes who are regular swimmers and occasionaly we are joined by others I supose in a way we are a sort of club, we have become very friendly, and every morning we have about ten minutes of chat while we are waiting for the door from the changing room to open. When I think about it, I supose we are strange bedfellows really. There's Dai, he's an ex professional boxer and costermonger 65 yrs old. He goes to Spain every 6 or 7 weeks and insists on speaking to me in Spanish, and the only word I know in Spanish is ola. He is about to buy a laptop and keeps pumping me for information about the internet. Then there's Gilbert 78 yrs old. Gilbert is a retired undertaker, and has some extremely funny stories to tell, he has also done some boxing and weightlifting, but this was way back when the world was black and white. He has just gone on a fortnight's holiday to Tenarife. (How do you spell that?)I shall miss Gilbert for the next two weeks, he is the only-one I swim faster than, apart from non regulars of course. Next is Brynmor, Bryn has just retired at the age of 60 from an executive job in an engineering firm and intends to keep fit. He has also recently bought a push-bike. Who else is there, oh yes, little David, he is a fourth year student of medicine and agonising about what area of medicine he wants to follow. David is not as regular as the rest of us, some times he has to spend time in hospitals away from Merthyr, but if he is within 20 miles then he turns up. Then theres me of course, I was a Soldier, Insurance agent, Union shop stuard, Area manager for an electrical company, Milkman, small shop-keeper, as well as Husband, Father and Grandfather. |
You write a great blog for us manroy. I enjoy it to no end.
Roy, you do have an easy style in your blogs and I enjoy reading them. I hope you continue with them and don't forget to always bring your camera with you wherever you go. Take care.
Thanks Guys. I plan to try writing a blog every weekend. Roy.
