Virgin River Narrows - Timber Canyon

Rating: 8

Description
I hiked 4 miles into the Virgin River Narrows with a heavy camera backpack and tripod. At times I had to wade the river bed in water up to my chest holding my backpack over my head. I got to a spot where I just couldn't go any further . I would had to have swim to go upstream. This is a very surreal place . Side canyons interlaced together with walls almost 1000 feet high in places. Not a place to be in a flash flood but one of the best hikes I've ever been on.

This is a beautiful photo. You must have been exhausted when you took it, after such a treachorous journey. The things we do for a good picture. It's wonderful. Well worth the effort to get it.
