you obviously have a gift for portraiture and an eye for detail Susan, The faces of the subjects you choose are so interesting. I would love to see some eye contact in some of the single portraits - difficult at times yes, but it adds a connection.

An observation to add to Farmum's comment: every face of any of any of the 6 + billion humans on the planet is INTERESTING! The challenge is for the photographer to create an image that does justice to just how ‘interesting’ any face really is.

The possibility for a successful portrait can only be revealed ‘exposed’ by the degree in which the photographer herself earns the trust ‘intimacy’ of whom she photographs. When you manage that zone and figure how to manipulate the moment by actually exposing some of yourself, your hurt, your joy, your genuine interest, whatever device, you sometimes get lucky and a good portrait emerges. And that is the thrill of the shutter junky! To show all just how terrifically beautiful and unique a face really is.
