Description
The clouds opened up and the sun was sinking in the late afternoon to produce these rays that attracted everyone's eyes and also my camera.

For me, exposure (for both film and digital) is critical and a well exposed image is so much easier to process and/or enhance. My oldish Panasonic Lumix digital has a spot focus and spot metering mode that I use together all the time. I guess for a subject like this one it is best to expose for the highlights (the brightest parts of the scene) and this seems to acentuate the effect of the sun's rays. In this particular subject there was smoke in the air and that has also helped. When processing I use PhotoShop CS2 and use "Levels" for tonal range control and a touch of Saturation to add a bit of "punchiness" to the colours. Hope this helps. Regards from Down Under.

It looks like the heavens are opening up. Either that, or the aliens have arrived.
