I don't think that is a Red breasted nuthatch though, I know quite a bit about backyard birds in the (eastern US anyway) and I also have several books on birds and the red breasted nuthatch doesn't look like that bird. They have a narrower and longer beak and black and white stripes on their heads. I've never seen a bird like this one before. The books I have are of North American birds and eastern US...Rhonda

Hi right i asked someone on my other photo site ( eyefetch.com) and he kindly checked on the bird site and its a Chaffinch! i come from uk this was taken at howletts zoo in canterbury. hope this helps! x
