Description
My girlfriend has a very nice garden with a very diverse amount of flowers. I like to have early morning coffee and set up my tripod shooting some of her flowers. Now if that damn fast hummerbird would sit still just long enough for me to shoot him ............Damn,I think he's onto me. Dave92706

Needs to be framed a bit. The idea is good, the color is good. The framing is poor. Almost dead center, somewhat trapped there. The direction of the flower is pointing is down, perhaps try cropping it to be a vertical. Explore the 'rule of thirds'

If you can, shoot in RAW format. This will help with the blown out hilights. (they are not here, but almost, just a little bit hot)

Try shooting during the late afternoon or early morning as well, this will allow more even lighting which will eliminate the 4 or so stop range between the top and bottom of the flower, thus allowing you to capture it in more detail and with more natural color.

This image has a lot of potential, and if you have it in RAW format you could seriously re-crop and rebalance and it would be much stronger!
