Azeem, all the photos that I've posted except the Newport Lifeguard chair were all shot on slide film many years ago. I concentrated on the foreground focus but quite frankly its been too long ago for me to remember the details. I swear if I knew them , I would tell you. I liteally have several hundred slides of this quality or better, of sunsets. Many of these photos were shot using a Cokin Filter system. I will not deny that the sky may have been enhanced with a filter but the majority of my shots were not. Other than the Newport shot , none were enhanced in Photoshop other than enlarging and cropping. Before the invent of digital, photography did involve using filters to enhance subjects, skies, reflection, filters to reduce flurorescent lights,fogging/soft focus filters for faces , and so many more.Doing silhouette shots requires a little technique, a good eye for composition and not a lot of skill. Anyone can do it given proper instruction. Use your point of focus for metering on a dark object then refocus your frame . Shoot the scene at several different shutter speeds higher and lower than your original metering . I haven't tried this in the field yet, but my Cokin Filter system will work on digital SLR's . I will post several more photos in time.
