Millennium In The Making

Description
In 1997 I went to the Grand Canyon. For 3 days you couldn't even see the other side because of haze. At the end of the 3rd day the haze cleared out. I shot this towards dusk from Mattherson Point.
When I was 15, my 14 year old cousin and myself hiked to the bottom of the Canyon with only a 35mm SLR, one canteen of water between the two of us, and a pack of firecrakers to ward of rattlers
(we never saw any). We spent the night in the canyon sleeping on wooden benches at Indian Gardens and hiked out the next morning. My cousin and I still can't believe how stupid we were back then and lived. Our little 23 mile hike was in the middle of July. My parents were somewhat upset to say the least but grateful we were still alive.
