There is really no applicable rating here. The photo is just a joy to see. Perhaps, as an exception, the winning poem might be posted here as a blog for all to see and appreciate. In any case, our heartiest Congratulations from across the pond! -DKD

I have to give this a ten Les, it's the best photo I have seen of myself for years, the grand in Ena's hand may have something to do with it. Here's the poem.

Lady in Red

He glanced at the picture that hung by a string,
Then looked again at the lady within,
So aloof yet alone, so silent, withdrawn,
An impression so gentle, yet sad and forlorn.
In misty surroundings she walked through the wood,
He longed to be with her if only he could.

Alone and lonely, walked the lady in red,
With a scarlet umbrella to cover her head.
Lovely and lonely like a painting of old,
A picture to hang in a frame made of gold.
A picture of dreams so vague yet so deep.
Does she laugh, does she cry, does she sigh, does she weep.

His chair is now empty; he's gone from the place.
Where he gazed at the lady dressed in crimson and lace.
But glance at the picture. then look once again,
Look past the umbrella that's shielding the rain.
Look through the mist, just past his head,
And you may see him qaiting for the lady in red.
Roy Lewis.

Sorry Guys, in the last but one line, it should read: "her" head, and in the last line, change the "q" for a w. I have tried to alter it in edit, I have tried to delete the whole thing, but nothing seems to works. Roy.

Congratulations on the photo, the poem, the win, and especially having someone important in your life to write about and photograph. It seems that you may have been a winner before the writing and the photography ever started.
Well Done!!
