Description
This is another photo from a walk in the pine forest. It's such a classic mushroom - looks like it has fallen from a child's book of fairy stories. Fungi photos are some of my favourites, they can appear, change and disappear in such a short time, sometimes there's little tooth marks from tiny forest creatures in them, or they get trampled and broken, it's amazing to find them when they are fresh and perfect.

I looked at this shot for several minutes and every so often a little elf pokes his/her head out from behind the stalk, but they only do it when you start to look away. Love the shot.
