Panorama of a fairly ordinary cloudy sky, from south to north. 7 shots taken with Canon 400D in Auto mode, 18-55mm kit lens, stitched in Serif Panorama Plus 1 and cropped in PS CS2.

G'Day Rob, Looks like you may have the pano bug. I quickly found, some years ago, that "more is better" when digitally merging pics to form panoramics. Also, I usually maintain the same exposure by using manual exposure control settings throughout the series of pictures....this helps when processing and gives a better result. Regards, Steve

Thanks Steve! Yes, agree, more is better - 5 probably would have sufficed, but results are better with more! I do a lot of mosaics of subjects such as the moon and night-sky widefields (essentially 2-D rather than linear panoramas) where manual controls, as well as equal post-processing (eg stacking, wavelets etc), are essential. But programs such as SPP1 accommodate varying exposures quite well so it's nice to just let go occasionally with "happy-snaps" - sometimes the results can be quite surprising (and sometimes awful, I must admit!).
