Agnew Falls - June Lake Loop

Description
This was the second time I hiked to Agnew Lake high above Silver Lake in the Sierras. Unfortuneatly, I never quite made it any further on this hike due getting off trail to photograph the falls. I never found the trail continuing to the lake and the steepness of the mountain and bush prevented me from going any higher. This was not a safe place to get photos and footing was dicey at best. I was glad to get down in one piece from there. Dave92706

Great photo. Good composition and light. Great Shot!

I like the composition of the shot, but the water looks pink on my screen, so colour balance might be out. I'd also like to see some detail in the rocks - this may show up in full size, but I couldn't download.

Farmum, I would have to agree with you on this. I was reluctant to post this photo for that exact reason. The was a slide that was scanned by ScanCafe'. When I looked at it on the CD, I noticed the pinkish tint to the photo. I don't like photoshopping these type of photos . The slide was on the grainy side originally. I think the problem was on the scan . The photo would benefit from photoshop and I might just do that. Almost all the photos I have posted on this site are from slides.I have either scanned the original 4x6 prints then saved them to file. I recently sent out 100 slides to be high resolution scanned to CD file. When they came back I noticed a lot of detail loss and color shifting from the originals. Considering that they used a Nikon Coolscan 9000 to do them, I'm not very pleased from the results.Dave92706

A really stunning shot. Almost worth the risk of breaking your neck to get it. Truly impressive.
