I currently own canon 30d and sony cybershot w55 cameras. I mostly use my cybershot when I am too lazy to pick up the powermonger canon.

I use two cameras.
The Fuji Finepix F10 for the snapshots and the Fuji Finepix S5 Pro (my SLR) for everything else. Mostly I shoot with my SLR nowerdays, as its more fun and give you a lot more control...if you know what you are doing that is

I only have my Canon Powershot SD200 and the old HP one. I want to practice for the next few years with the canon before I attempt to invest a good chunk of change on anything more.

Right now I have a Kodak Easyshare C340. I really like, and it's a nice-sized digital camera for me. It takes excellent pictures for being a Kodak, apparently. I've heard that most Kodaks aren't that great. I'm glad I got lucky with my camera.

I shoot on a Nikon D80 dSLR and Nikon N80/F80 35mm SLR. I specifically got the D80 as an upgrade path to get the Fuji S5 Pro (love that cam Kojak!) when the price drops a bit more...

For some explainable & unexplainable reasons, I've recently fallen back in love w/ film. So, I also shoot w/ a Mamiya 645 AF Pro medium format when appropriate. With MF cameras/lenses so inexpensive now, it's amazing.

Oh yeah, I also have a Canon S3 IS ultra-zoom, which I love for what it is. An amazing 36-432mm f/2.7-3.5? Yeah.
- Nikon D80 + N80 cameras, planning Fuji S5 Pro soon
- Nikon MF primes: 24 f/2.8, 50 f/1.8, 100 f/2.8, 200 f/4; McMNP 35 f/2; Vivitar (Tokina) 90 f/2.5 Macro, Vivitar 2x TC
- AF lenses: Nikon 24-120 ED-IF AF-S VR, 50 f/1.8; Tokina 12-24 f/4; Sigma 24-70 f/2.8, Sigma 135-400 f/4.5-5.6

Have an old Olympus C-750 which I loved 'til it started getting buggy. I actually dropped it on concrete once from shoulder height and all that broke was the battery lid. Amazing. Now I mostly shoot with Sony P100 and H2. Would love to get into SLR. Maybe Olympus E-410??

I have the canon powershot A620 which is my every day camera. The old packard bell for my toddler, and for my special stuff I have the canon Rebel. Not yet up to using that yet really-it really needs someone far better than I am photography.

I have an old canon, but I am saving up for something better (more advanced).
I am debating between a Digital Rebel XT and a Digital Rebel XTi. I think I am pushing more toawrds the XTi (more info below).

High performance digital SLR with 10.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC II Image processor. Large 2.5-inch LCD monitor with new user interface and wide viewing angle. Fast 3 frames-per-second shooting with 27-frame burst and a 0.2 second startup time. High precision, wide area 9-point autofocus system.

Picture Style settings for a broad range of control over color, contrast and sharpening. Print/Share button featuring advanced camera direct capabilities for greater user control while direct printing. EOS Integrated Cleaning System featuring a Self Cleaning Sensor Unit

Fully compatible with over 60 EF and EF-S Lenses and a wide range of EOS System accessories

New Features
Dust Delete Feature
Auto Sensor Cleaning
Dust Delete Data
Manual Sensor Cleaning

Picture Style
Six preset Picture Style settings plus three user-defined custom Picture style settings with individual adjustments for Sharpness, Contrast, Color saturation, 2nd Color tone; Filter effect, Toning effect for black & white images

I think this would be worth my money, well spent for having to save up as long as I have been.

I have a brilliant old 5mp olympus compact that I use for out and about/just in case stuff and a canon 400D for when i want to capture the goods. The 400D though just an entry level Dslr is probably the best investment I've ever made.

I, too have the Fuji Finepix 10, Kojak. Wish Australia was closer so I could get some tips from you on how to get the best out of it!!

I'm dreaming of purchasing an SLR soon. Maybe the Nikon D80.

I have a canon S2IS - love it for its 12x optical zoom and focus at zero for macro. Also Canon EOS 350D - which I like but don't love yet - needs more reading of the manual I think I've just bought a fun little camera - Olympus 770SW - waterproof to 10 metres. So far we've just played with it in the pool. My daughter's going sailing next month so she'll give it a workout. I used to have the Canon G1 but it died.

Had a Nikon D50 for almost a year now and I love it. Lenses: 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens, Sigma 70-300mm APO and Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro.
Also have a 5 year old Casio QV-2900UX. It is only 2MP, but takes very good macros. It can focus down to 10mm. My Mrs uses it now (when she doesn't pinch the D50)

I use a Olympus C720 UZ but it is outdated and I am hoping Santa Claus is bringing me an Olympus 530 or something similar. What does everyone think. What do you think is a good slr on the market but cost under $700?

I have a minolta digital and must admit that since purchasing it I am now addicted! I take it everywhere. I am currently looking for digital camera classes in my area as I want to understand all the settings and options.

I've recently bought an Olympus E510 with twin lenses. Its taken a while to get to grips with it but i think i'm starting to get there. Anything that can be adjustable is adjustable. I also use a fujifilm finepix f610 for the pocket but to be honest i'm so into using the olympus, i've forgotten to use it!!!

Hi all,

I'm new here so I guess I should comment as well. First of all thanks to all who have commentated on my pictures. I'm a Nikon shooter ! Started out with a D80 last year but have now progressed to the D200. I also have a (very) used D1H that I use for some of my macro experiments. Yes, I'm mainly into macro photography and have used the past summer to learn some of the techniques needed. My main lens is the Nikkor 105 VR. I'm not that fond of tripods when doing garden work so most of my pictures are handheld. I'm also very interested in old Nikkor AI/AIS glass and I typically use them mounted backwards or together with the PB-4 bellows. I plan to use this winter to learn and experiment with tabletop macro photography.

I use a Mamiya RB67 and a couple of Canon A1s for most things. I also have a Yashica MAT-124 that I use from time to time. I carry an Olympus PEN 35mm 1/2 frame in my pocket. All the negatives are scanned on an Epson V750. Soon a D80.

My main camera is a Canon Rebel TXI. I use a Olympus E-volt 500 when I shoot macro. also I use a Kodak DX6490 which I find really nice for car shows. I shoot film with a Nikon L35 AF.I haven't a clue how I have kept my wife all these years with all the money I put into my Hobie. But it sure is a lot of fun.
Break on through to the other side

I have been using a Canon PWRShot G2 4.0mg and am thinging about buying the Sony Alfa 100. Take mostly indoors pictures of people then put them in web sites. Would this be a good move? Package would include both 18-70mm Sony Lense, 75-300mm. Will cost about $750. Thanks

I use an oldish Panasonic Lumix FZ10 that I've used constantly for the past three years. It's literally taken millions of pictures for me (thank goodness it's digital) as film costs (for me anyway) are now somewhat expensive. This camera has sucessfully survived many accidents, being dropped off my shoulder during a fall down a steep gravel slope, waterlogged in a monsoonal downpour in Cambodia and almost frozen by the atmosphere at the Glaciers on the west coast of the south island of New Zealand. Amazingly it's still performs for me. Soon I will buy the new Panasonic digicam that has an X18 optical zoom and 8 megapixel res. The cost of this camera is now half the price I paid for my old Panasonic. I have many analogue 35mm cameras that I haven't touched for years. Thanks from Brisbane, Australia.
