hello

in my slr i always use auto focus but some times i try to use the manual focus and the photos come out blurred

i can not get the photo right although i am using the

view finder

how did photographers manage to do it during the old days and what do i have to do to focus right?

What is your current camera and lens set up azeem? It is a difficult question to answer with so little information.
Another thought that comes to my mind is that if I recall rightly you were using a canon 400d. Just to right of the viewfinder on this camera there is a dioptric adjustment wheel.
If this has not been adjusted to your vision then you will have difficulty getting precise manual focus.
