I posted a picture named infrared today - this is true infrared picture. As I said I pulled appart my Fuji and changed the filter on the sensore to an overexposed color film. Before I did some stimulation with red and infrared filters - it takes forever and I was not very impressed. Here I can do it in real time and can see in a viewfinder what I am shooting at. Very nice toy, but I have to read what I am actually capturing.

Hi, I downloaded your infrared image to see the effect and to re-iterate my comment I could not see the effect.Infrared photography is more effective with scenes that have blue skies some cirrus clouds perhaps and also lots of foliage contrasted with stone or brickwork. My guess is you know that already,I just thought it would be useful info for those with less experience.
Happy New Year

sure, but as I said this is the very first shot, the snow time is not the best time for IR, but the hands were itchy.

Hey just how much does one of these infra red filters go for? The photos taken with them look very cool. I'm a man,
but I can change,
if I have too...
I guess.... |

Good page - I think it is one of the best for IR. I am thinking about converting 20D, looks as a headack... About the filters - they are expansive. Sony so called x-ray filter is the less expansive, this is anothe page for band pass filters.http://www.maxmax.com/aXNiteFilters.htm . You can try IR by using a piece of color large formate film overexposed and developed. It goes to reddish color, that could be easy corrected, but works good.
