What is your preference for both personal photography and other? I have always had a soft spot for monochromatic photography, because it allows me to focus more on my composition and do studies in things such as contrasts. The effects can be so striking!

Are you a black and white fan?

I am a fan of black and white photography as well. I love the intensity of the contrasts. I love color photography as well, but blacka nd white compositions are usually among my favorites.

There is just something romantic about black and white isn't there? Whether it takes me back, I don't know-maybe it is a nostalgia thing? But almost everything except a sunset looks better in monochrome.

Black and white reminds me of the "good Ole days", back to tradition, where we all started from. I think that is the nostalgia that you speak of.

I think colour is really important. There are soo many emotions and feelings beeing captured in a colour pciture. I am definatly a big fan of coloured pictures.

I think that black and white photography does bring up some nostalgia, and it can be just as emotinal as colored photgraphy, I believe. It really just depends on the subject.

As long as the model in the photo can truly show their emotions, I don't think something like B & W should matter. If the photographer can see the emotion and capture it, that is all that really matters in the end.

With my youngest, I always find that I love her pictures more in B & W. Now she is used to the click sound, and when she hears it, she will turn around and smile. I think I have turned her into a little model (maybe she will be my subject for the few I am going to mess around with today).
