Alright well ive been looking at the specs for days now and the only notable difference i can see (that would affect me) would be
- the full frame sensor on the 5D at 3fps
- 1.3x crop and shooting at 11fps
it would be lovely to have the 11fps but i just cant see how its worth $2000 extra
Ive figured that (on ebay) i can get a Canon 5d + battery grip + shutter remote + 2nd battery for $2500
and a Canon 1D MK3 + shutter remote + extra battery = $4800

Those are the spec pages for both.
Please everyone have an input "Time goes on, things change from moment to moment, and a photo is all that remains of the moment past..."

Hi, if your shooting fast moving action for a living then the 11fps is what you need to get if you want to compete with the rest of the pro's out there,so to that end the extra cost is justified. If on the other hand you are shooting lets say landscapes then the 5d would best suit your needs. You pays your money you takes your choice.

Yeah... the thing is i dont know if i would need the 11fps... Is there any other features on the 1D that im not seeing as important? like maybe studio functionality or something? Or is it only slight differences besides the fps? "Time goes on, things change from moment to moment, and a photo is all that remains of the moment past..."

there are several more_ 1d is professioal quality build - it is much better protected from the environment. I compared a noise on the pictures, somehow you can shoot asa1600 on 1d and have the quality that is very similar to asa200 on 5d. shortly - if you want a professional machine that you can pounds the nails by - this is 1d, but the picture quality in average conditions - is very similar. I have chosen 5D and have no regrets.
